Experience our Christian neighborhood programs through the eyes of our participants

“Every Youth Group would benefit from this great ministry.”

“As a High School and College Pastor, we experienced the most effective and transforming discipleship with our students through Power Up Club. Our students were trained to serve, to share their faith, to work together, and they learned about relying on the power of God.  Not only was the Gospel boldly proclaimed throughout our city, our student experienced the joy of serving the Lord!  Every Youth Group would benefit from this great ministry.”

Adam, Pastor, Original PUC Team Member

“My favorite part of Power Up Club are games and learning Bible stories.”

“Power up Club is so much fun!  It’s a really cool way to learn about God and Jesus.  My favorite part of Power Up Club are games and learning Bible stories. Oh, and I also loved my Power Up Team!”

Dora, age 10, Power Up Club Attender

“And now they know our foundation and passion in life is Jesus Christ.”

“A great takeaway from our experience with Power Up Club was the work that was done for Christ in our neighborhood. We have been really convicted to meet more of the people living around us.  By the end of the week, we are much more familiar with our neighbors.  And now they know our foundation and passion in life is Jesus Christ. Being a part of this years’ PUCs was a clear work of the Lord and we were privileged to join and be a part.”

Pedro & Kristen, Host Home

“I have seen the impact of the Gospel at work.”

“Why do I love Power Up Club?  First, I received Christ at a Power Up Club I attended as a kid.  So obviously, that is the best part ever – it changed my life!  As a Team member, I have seen the impact of the Gospel at work. It’s so awesome to serve Jesus and learn Bible truth and have a chance to put it all into action.  Oh yeah, on top of all that, it’s a blast because you’re with all your friends and having so much fun!”

Morgan, age 14, Power Up Club Team Member and Former Attender

“… being a Host Home has had a huge impact in our neighborhood!”

“We had many new kids this year and made new friends.  We met new neighbors and one girl finally became old enough for her mom to bring her.  One thing that was fun to watch was a friendship that started and grew during the week.  The friendship occurred between 2 girls attending the club and their moms who stayed at the club.  They had a lot in common and indicated they would keep in touch.  We love Power Up Clubs and being a Host Home has had a huge impact in our neighborhood!”

“God indeed was faithful and ever-present this past week!”

“He blessed my Team with protection, unity, and strength. No doubt, our Team put Jesus on display! Each of those kids truly presented themselves as living sacrifices.I could give you example after example. I know God was glorified by each of them.”

Holly, Adult Leader

“What a blessing it was for us to host …”

“What a blessing it was for us to host our first Power Up Club!  Thank you for the opportunity.  The team was terrific!  They were quick to engage the children in activities and were very friendly to the parents.”

Evelyn, Host Home

“It’s the best week of the summer!”

“Power Up Club is a fun way to get neighbors together to have fun and games. Then there is a lesson that is short so neighbor kids like it.  The skits are so funny. Everyone should go to a Power Up Club! It’s the best week of the summer!”

Cherish, age 11, Power Up Club Attender

“He was talking with his daughter about PUC and missing it.”

“A man from our neighborhood brought has daughter to our Power Up Club every night. The last night of the Club was his birthday. As he was eating his birthday dinner, he was talking with his daughter about PUC and missing it. The daughter said, “It’s okay daddy, Jesus understands us not going tonight because it’s your birthday.” Needless to say, they were at our Club later that night!”

“I learned about the ABC’s of knowing God.”

“I love Power Up Clubs!  I played and kicked the ball and sang songs.  I did good in the games.  I learned about the ABC’s of knowing God.”

Sammy, Age 3, Power Up Club Attender

“I am forever blessed by this experience.”

“My name is Frances and I am 75 years old.  I felt God encouraging me to participate in the Power Up Club for the past several years.  This year I decided to be obedient and be a Host Home. The Team showed up Monday morning on fire with God’s Love and because no neighborhood kids showed up, they went out and tried to find kids.  We only had one child that showed up for one day. But, the way those kids and the team leader acted, you would have thought that there were 100 kids in the yard. I had a blast playing frisbee and getting soaked by the team on water day.  This wonderful team never lost momentum or become discouraged.  On the last day, we had the opportunity to share our testimonies with each other. It was such an amazing experience for me to watch these kids so full of energy and God’s love. I am forever blessed by this experience.”

Frances, First-time Host Home

“Ethan even offered to share his testimony in front of the whole group …”

“At our evening Club the kids were super attentive to the Bible stories, rap, testimony and Gospel.  They were so well behaved that I was able to ask the group as a whole if they had any questions (everyday). They asked questions like “how did God get the power to create the universe?” “How did Jesus’ death cover all the sins of the world?” or even “how do we know that the Bible I have at home was written by God and not just a person?”  All of the kids asked questions like these and all listened tentatively to the answers. One boy named Ethan even offered to share his testimony in front of the whole group about how he was saved at Power Up Clubs last year. It was truly a sweet time.”

Clara, Power Up Club Captain, Team Member, and Former Attender

“Watching teenagers put Jesus on display in our front yard.”

“For the past 12 years our family has had the privilege of being a Power Up Club Host Home.  It’s an exciting week of watching teenagers (Youth Group) put Jesus on display in our front yard.  There is music, and games, and skits and snacks and testimonies, there’s even a “water day”.  The children who participate have so much fun that they come back year after year.  Over the years, as we’ve witnessed many children come to saving faith, our love and enthusiasm for this ministry has only grown.  Our family looks forward to PUC week all year”.

“In my experience of four years during PUC week, God breaks, loves, teaches, shows His glory and power, talks, and prepares me in a way I wouldn’t imagine. This year was no an exception.”

Sara, Adult Leader, 4 years

“Kelly did something special. A teenager came to our club and Kelly reached out to her. As a result this teen came every night for worship/lesson time.  She was only at the Club because her mom made her bring her brother, but now, she has received Jesus and become a part of the Youth Group!”

Jordan, Team Captain, about one of his team members

“As it was our first year being a Host Home. I was very impressed with our team and their preparedness, their willingness to go out of their comfort zone, their boldness, their enthusiasm, their punctuality, and their gentle spirit with the neighborhood kids, to whom we didn’t know.”

Steve and Kim, First Year Host Home

“At the last club Gracie shared the gospel using the fidget spinner and the boy asked her to write down what the colors meant, so she did. The boy talked with Gracie for a little while and he did not give his life to Christ but a seed was planted in him.”

Luke, Team Captain, about one of his team members

“All week we prayed for this one little boy because he was so wild, crazy and unfocused.  We asked God to help him focus during our Grace Stories and the Gospel.  He loved to “karate chop” Nathaniel, but gave Nathaniel a hug. He also did not get up a single time during the lesson, testimony, or Gospel. We praised God for this little boy and for hearing our prayer!”

Clara, Co-Captain

“We live in a community with very few young families, but we were encouraged to see the Lord used four different grandparents to bring some of their grandkids to our Power Up Club. Twin 9 year old boys came and had never been to church.  By the end of the week they had memorized the Gospel song and could tell us exactly what each color of a power band represented.  Seeds were planted!”

Jim and Diana, First Time Host Homes

“One boy named Ethan came to our Club.  He offered to share his testimony in front of the whole group about how he was saved at Power Up Club last year. It was truly sweet time.”

“An 8 year old girl, Madelyn, came up to me and was asking me amazing questions about the Gospel and why Jesus died on the Cross. I’m sad that that was the last day so I couldn’t follow up with it but I thank God for the seed planted in Madelyn’s heart and I pray for growth in her life!”

Lindsay, Captain

“We experienced some amazing God moments this week!  Several kids received Christ and a lot of kids were very interested in knowing more. We were carefully not to push, but we know seeds of the Gospel were planted!”

Hannah, Team Captain

“We had an opportunity to speak to door to door sales person about God!  He was walking through before Club started, so we just introduced ourselves and share the Gospel with him!”

Brian, Team Member

“We have a mother who brought an exchange student who didn’t speak a lot of English. One of the our PUC high school team members, took time and typed the Gospel into the girl’s translator app so she could have the message of Jesus!”

“I will not soon forgot the kids’ similes and how warm the Team made everyone feel!  God is working through Power Up Club!”

Ashley, First Year Host Home

“Posting the event in our neighborhood Facebook page was a very valuable tool in attracting people to our club. In total more than 75 kids attended at some point during the week!  We had an awesome team who was high energy and very clearly communicated the Gospel to the kids. At least one child from the club accepted Christ. Overall it was a great week with lots of seeds planted.”

Maddie, Host Home

“We loved our club! The first day we didn’t have many kids AND it rained. But, the team was ready for anything. They were a blessing. We prayed for more kids and sure enough 18 happy, fun kids showed up the rest of the week!”

Stacy, Host Home

“Near the end of the week, I was able to share the Gospel with a sweet little Muslim girl, and she listened.  I told her that God loves her and that He showed that love through the death of His Son.  I shared that Christianity is based on love and she said “I can tell”.  I’m praying so hard for that precious little girl to know Jesus!”

Hannah, Co-Captain

“One day we had a guy mowing the lawn across our yard as we were starting the club…kids were not distracted and team was great at keeping their attention. But the noise was really loud. My husband went over to talk to him and they had a nice conversation about Jesus. So even the lawn guy was a part of power up 🙂 no one too old or young.”
